Westin “15:14” Summer Solstice Run

The Westin “15:14” Summer Solstice Run is a 5k run, starting at the Westin Michigan Ave and continuing 3.1 miles along the beautiful lake front of Lake Michigan.  The “15:14” (15 hours and 14 minutes) is the amount of sunlight that will occur on 6/20/16 in Chicago.  This is the longest daylight of the year in Chicago.  The 5k is all about fun, health and camaraderie.

HOW IT WORKS

  • 30 to 100 runners will each run for 3.1 miles or around 30   minutes each.
The course will start at the Westin and head north to the underpass to the lake front.
  • Each associate (runWestin concierge) will run with a guest along the lake front.
  • The associate and guest will run along the lakefront and turn around at the mid-point. (Westin associate will be at the midpoint to direct them back to the hotel)
  • The guest and associate will hand off with a “high Five” at the hotel and the next guest will head out for their run.
  • Each guest will run 30 minutes with start time starting at 5:15am and ending at 8:29pm.

  • The run is broken down into 30 minute segments.  Each runner will run 30 minutes down the lakefront and back to the hotel.  You will “High Five” the next person at the Westin (front door) to continue the run.   If you have multiple  runners that want to run at  the same  specific time just sign up.
  • Our guest along with Starwood associates will take part in 15 hour 14minute relay run along the lake front.
Refreshments will be given out throughout the day for the runners.
  • Runners will receive a ‘runWestin” 100% polyester power fuse wicking knit * Soft, cottony feel * Wicks moisture away from the body * Pad print label * Self-fabric collar * Contrast yoke * Set-in sleeves * Double-needle hemmed bottom. And other surprises.
